In historic fashion, it came down to a bottom of the seventh bunt to break a 7-7 tie for the Lady Jays to defeat the Lady Yeguas Friday night 8-7.

The Snook Bluejays fell to Mumford 15-0 and 17-0 in their twogame district series with Mumford last week.Snook fell to 4-12 overall and 3-7 in district play.

At the Area Track Meet for district 25-2A and 26-2A, Vela won gold in both the boys 800-meter run and in the boys high jump.His winning time in the 800 was 2:16.98 and his winning leap in the high jump was 5 feet 8 inches.

The Caldwell Junior High track teams recently competed at the district track meet in Navasota.The eighth-grade girls finished fourth in the team standings with a score of 79 points.Sealy won the team title with 193 points. Bellville was second with 162, and Giddings with third with 103.
