The Line Riders Motorcycle Club is hosting its eighth annual “Hot Rods & Hot Dogs & Motorcycles” event this Saturday, Oct. 2, featuring a car and motorcycle show, hot dogs, a raffle and live music by Caldwell’s own D & The Situation -- an area Classic Rock band.

The event will be held at Cyndi’s Hawg Hangout near Caldwell and begins at 11 a.m.

The annual event is a fundraiser for local youth organizations, and this year, the Line Riders MC will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley Caldwell Unit.

Cyndi Smith said, “We choose the Boys & Girls Clubs because it’s something this community needs for our children. They offer a safe and great place where all children can learn and have fun. And, the staff really cares.”

Smith said that the Line Riders MC is “all about supporting youth sports and positive youth programs” that give “our youth the opportunity to be involved,” especially when some parents struggle to afford placing their children in positive programs outside of school.

“We want to help make a difference because it starts with our kids,” Smith said.

Saturday’s event will kick off with registration for the car and motorcycle show at 11 a.m. The entry fee for the show is $20.

Then, children will judge the cars and motorcycles from 12:30- 1:30 p.m. with the top three cars and top three motorcyles announced at 2 p.m. -- with those people receiving plaques for first, second and third.

D & The Situtaion will take the stage at 2 p.m. and play until 4 p.m.

Denise Squier, the lead singer for the band, said, “I’m glad Cyndi asked us to be a part of such a great cause.”

“The guys and I truly believe in what the Boys & Girls Clubs bring to the Caldwell area -- a safe place where kids can go after school to have fun and get help with schoolwork,” she said.

“Burleson County residents are such great supporters of our area youth, and the Line Riders Motorcycle Club is just one example of people in our area having such big, giving hearts,” Squier said.

In addition to the car and motorcycle show and the music, there will be hot dogs for sale, various vendors and raffles.

Smith said, “The event will go on -- rain or shine.”

“We are honored to be helping and will continue to help and support an amazing youth program in our community,” Smith said.

Cyndi’s Hawg Hangout is located at 9940 State Highway 21 West near Caldwell.
