The Snook City Council is proposing a 3-cent property tax increase for the 2026-27 fiscal year, from 25 cents per $100 valuation to 28 cents.
The council approved the proposed rate in a special Monday, Aug 10, meeting, after discussion at their regular July 27 meeting.
The city’s tax rate has been at 25 cents for decades, so an increase would be the city’s first in modern times.
