The Somerville City Council was scheduled to hold final public hearings and votes on Tuesday, Sept. 8, for their 71.615-cent tax rate for 2026-27 and a $3,875,698 budget.
The proposed rate is the effective tax rate, the rate needed to generate the same amount of revenue as last year, but less than last year’s rate of 74.116 cents per $100 valuation.
