Caldwell swears in new mayor, council members

The Caldwell City Council approved a resolution canvassing returns and declaring results of the May 2 election and administered the oaths of office to the newly elected mayor and council members at its Wednesday, May 13, called meeting.John Rychlik was elected mayor with 399 votes, or 69.

The Somerville City Council canvassed and approved the results of the City Council Election held on May 2 at its Tuesday, May 12, meeting, followed by the administration of the oath of office to elected aldermen.

Grilling season brings mixed prices for Texas consumers

As Memorial Day approaches and grills fire up across Texas, consumers will see a mixed picture at the meat counter. Beef prices remain well above last year’s levels, while pork and chicken continue to offer more affordable options, according to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service economists.

CJH Big Event a big success

With about 320 student, staff and parent volunteers at 30 jobsites across Burleson County, this year’s Caldwell Junior High (CJH) Big Event held on Friday, May 15, was “a huge success,” according to co-coordinator Karlin Wilson.

At a ceremony held at Warren Lodge No. 56 on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, six graduating students from Caldwell High School received scholarships from the Masons of Warren Lodge No. 56 and two students received scholarships from Caldwell Chapter No. 976, Order of the Eastern Star.
