Caldwell school board holds budget workshop

The Caldwell ISD schoolboard held the first of two budget workshops during its Monday, April 27, meeting.The second budget workshop will take place during the board’s Monday, May 18, meeting, while the public hearing on the budget will take place on Monday, June 22.

RRC issues no new oil, gas permits in February

The Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) issued no new oil well drilling permits in Burleson County in February.The RRC report is for newly approved permits in the county, not for drill sites which were previously permitted.

Bullock Museum features Kolache Festival in exhibit

On Saturday, the Kolache Festival was one of 27 festivals from across the state to be featured in a new exhibit called “Texas Festival” at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin.

C-LARS to be part of major subsea tech hub

C-LARS, LLC, a manufacturer of marine launch and recovery systems, is continuing its construction in Snook and is now a key part of a broader vision called Subsea Technology Center of America (STC).

Human body remains found at Cade Lakes

The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers are investigating human remains found on Thursday, April 23, at Cade Lakes Subdivision.The case remains under investigation at this time with no further information available, said Burleson County Sheriff ’s Sgt. Randy Jackson.
