The Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District (POSGCD) is launching its 2026 Water Well Quality Testing Campaign for private well owners in Milam and Burleson counties.This is the first year POSGCD has offered a winter testing campaign.

Elderly man dies in fire off F.M. 166

A 92-year-old Tunis man died on Saturday night, Jan. 24, in a fire that burned down a singlewide trailer home at 10823 F.M. 166 in Tunis, and the cause remains unknown.Burleson County Sheriff Bill Rios identified the man as Mel Jones.
