A memorial celebration of life for David Paul Taden, 74, of Caldwell will be held at a later date at his church, Harmony Baptist Church in Burleson County.

Burial will be in Danforth, Ill., where his parents are buried.

Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2020, for viewing at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. The immediate family will not be present all day.

Mr. Taden died on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1945, at his parent’s homestead in Iroquois County, Ill., to Johann Taden and Bernice (Rieches) Taden.

David and his brother Marvin would go fishing in the creek behind their house as kids.

David joined the Marines when he was 20 and did two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart and received an Honorable Discharge.

He worked at the Woodhaven Stamping Plant for the Ford Motor Company and retired from there.

David enjoyed spending time with his family and working.

He attended the Harmony Baptist Church in Burleson County, Texas, where he and Marvin were currently living.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johann Hildebrand Taden and Bernice Doris (Rieches) Taden.

David is survived by two daughters, Tammi Taden and fiancé, Ron Gunn, and Amy Taden; three grandchildren, Ashley Taden, Christopher Taden, and Destiny Westover; four great-grandchildren, Kristian, Keyliana, Karma, and Tarah; his brother, Marvin Taden; three sisters, Gloria Huizenga and husband, Kenneth, Dianne Maricer and husband, Benny, and Janice Trumble and husband, Dave; and numerous nieces and nephews.
