Kerry Helen Burttschell Ondrasek, 79, of Caldwell, Texas, was called from this life to the glory of the Lord the evening of March 20, 2024.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey in Caldwell, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday March 27, 2024, in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral home in Caldwell, Texas.

The second youngest of eight was born to Elder Gus William and Marie Henrietta (Mamie) Klagman Burttschell in Dime Box, Texas, on February 4, 1945.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dime Box, Texas.

Kerry graduated Dime Box High School in 1963, and graduated college from Durham’s Business school in 1965.

She proudly served the Caldwell National Bank for 32 years, and then Edward Jones Investments where she retired in 2017.

She was a member of the Elizabeth Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and served as the treasurer for Sunday school.

She also served the community as treasurer for the Kolache Festival, a helper with the Girl Scouts, and started the Christmas decorations around the courthouse and town.

Kerry loved to play sports, and thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in the many sports they play.

She met the love of her life, Henry A. Ondrasek of Caldwell, Texas in Dime Box, Texas. They were married on April 23, 1965, at St. John Lutheran Church in Dime Box, Texas. They lived their life in Caldwell, Texas where they were blessed with one son Lamar, and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Kerry will always be remembered above all else as a loving mother; her heart of gold and way of caring for those around her will be missed and forever cherished by all.

Kerry’s family is grateful for her life and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ, her husband and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elder and Mamie Burttschell; mother-in-law Mary F. Ondrasek; sisters, June Leite and husband, Valmore (Put) Leite, and Bernell Markert and husband, Ray Markert, Betty Brinkman and husband, Jimmie Brinkman; brothers, John Burttschell and wife, Helen, and Robert Burttschell.

Kerry is survived by her husband of 59 years, Henry Ondrasek; son and daughter-in-law Lamar and Peggi Ondrasek; two grandsons, Stuart Ondrasek, and Zachary Ondrasek and wife, Jami; two granddaughters Katie Barnes and husband, Chad, and Emilie Howard and husband, Louis; great-grandchildren, Liam Ondrasek, Avery Ondrasek, Ryleigh Ondrasek, Bailey Barnes, Callie Barnes, and Colt Barnes; siblings, Jean Burttschell,Bay Canon and her husband Roger; Joe Burttschell and wife, Donna; sister-in-law, Pat Burttschell; plus nephews and nieces too numerous to list, but all loved dearly as an important and integral part of her life.

The family thanks all who supported them during this challenging time: friends, work colleagues, and especially the caregivers of St. Joseph who made these final days easier.
