Mary Louise Ausley

Funeral services for Mary Louise Ausley will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March 7, 2024, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mary was born on Dec. 2, 1930, in Highlands, Texas, to William Charles Stegmiller and Edwin Irene (Doll Baby) Brymer.

She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas. There she met the love of her life, Billy Joe Ausley. They were married Dec. 26, 1948, with the dress that she made during her home economics class.

After they graduated, Billy joined the Baytown City Police Force and Mary stayed home raising their children. She loved baking and crafting.

She loved her grandchildren, but we know she really loved her great-grandchildren proven by her neverending back scratches.

She was known by many as GG and will always be remembered by her humor and blunt comments.

She died on March 3, 2024. Mary is survived by three sons; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
