A graveside funeral service for Quincy A. Berka, 97, of Caldwell,was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at New Tabor Cemetery in Caldwell.
Quincy was born on Dec. 25, 1927, in Rockdale, to Franklin J. Berka and Rosie Vavra Berka.
He grew up in Caldwell and married Ruthie Jo Roundtree in 1956.
Their union was blessed with four children.
Quincy later had another son with his then-wife, Jeanette.
Quincy is a World War II vet and a proud member of the Caldwell VFW post 4458. Quincy served as an airplane mechanic in the U.S. Army.
After completing his tour of duty, he continued working as an airplane mechanic in Bryan.
He spent the majority of his remaining working years as a self-employed auto mechanic, known for his ability to fix, build, or fabricate anything he set his mind to.
Quincy had a deep love for music and was a talented musician.
He died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Quincy is survived by two daughters; one son; one daughter-in-law; one sonin- law; 12 grandchildren; one sister; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, bonus grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Caldwell.
