Janice Annette Schubert Crook, our beloved wife, mom, daughter and “Grammy J,” passed from this world to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on September 13, 2023, at the age of 65. Born in Brenham, Texas, to Leo and Evelyn Knesek Schubert on November 21, 1957, she grew up in Lyons, Texas.

Funeral Service for Billy Wayne Dodson, of Somerville, Texas, was held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. He was born on Jan. 13, 1933, in Wink, Texas. From the early age of 17, Billy embarked on a fulfilling career in the oilfield industry.

James Leroy Whatley, 76, of Caldwell, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. A public visitation was held in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m.

Somerville High School in 1953, from there she went to Decatur Baptist and Mary Hardin-Baylor, graduating in 1958. She was employed by the Houston Public Library starting in the historical department. Maxine was manager of two branch libraries, Vinson and Looscan.

Jane Margaret Kocurek Ward Hill entered this world on July 29, 1940, the fourth of six children belonging to WA and Della (Naiver) Kocurek of Rosenberg, Texas. She joined the heavenly choir on September 2, 2023, at Peach Creek Assisted Living surrounded by those who loved her.

Jeanne Chennault Beers, 94, of Friendswood, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 1, 2023. A visitation for Jeanne was held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2023. The funeral service followed at 2:30 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
