Caldwell players earn All-District honors

Three members of the Caldwell Hornets football team were named to the 2025 All-District 11-4A first team offense and three members to the second team defense.The Hornets also placed four players on the honorable mention team and 21 players on the Academic All-District team.

The Lady Jays were on the road last week, traveling to Thorndale on Tuesday, Nov. 18, and Richards on Friday, Nov. 21.At Thorndale, Snook fell to the Lady Bulldogs 46-35.As of press time, there was no score reported for Snook’s game against Richards.

Lady Hornets edge out win over Lady Yeguas

Kaely Brown had a stellar performance on the offensive end of the court, scoring 15 points to lead the Lady Hornets to a 36-35 road win over the Lady Yeguas last Tuesday, Nov. 18.However, Somerville’s Janaya Isom was the game’s leading scorer with 25 points.

Hornets fall to Mumford, Academy to open season

The Caldwell Hornets opened their season last week with sound losses to two tradition rich schools -- 75-35 at Mumford and 75-30 at home against Little River-Academy.

Snook begins 2-1 with Flatonia, St. Paul wins

The Snook Bluejays improved to 2-1 on Monday, Nov. 24, with a 62-30 win over Flatonia in Snook.Snook also rallied in the second half to defeat Shiner St.Paul 54-38 last Friday at home.The Bluejays lost to Round Top-Carmine (RTC) 47-24 in their opener on Nov. 18, also at home.

Lady Hornets host annual tournament

Last week, Caldwell hosted the annual Lady Hornet Classic basketball tournament, with the Lady Hornets going 3-3 at the event.Caldwell began the tournament with a 3818 win over Centerville.Ayanna Dewberry led Caldwell in scoring with eight points.

The Lady Yeguas went 3-1 in the Citizens State Bank Classic last week in Somerville.The Lady Yeguas began the tournament minus a starter, and then lost another starter early in their first tournament game and still placed third.
