    Griff Smith of Caldwell always knew that photography was way more than just “taking pictures.”

    Suble nuances like lighting, shadows, creative use of flash only scratched the surface of his art form.

    It was a calling -- and still is.

    Among his many adventures, Griff spent 30 years as photographer and photo editor for Texas Highways Magazine.
