Go Texan fundraiser raises $60,000 for scholarships

The Burleson County Go Texan Association’s annual scholarship fundraiser was held Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Burleson County Expo Center and raised $60,000 for scholarships for local youth, with $48,000 of that total just from Saturday’s live auction.

Man dies in head-on crash on SH 21 West

A 27-year-old College Station man was killed and two others seriously injured late Sunday, Feb. 2, in a head-on collision on State Highway 21 West near F.M. 60.Jadon White was pronounced dead at the scene by Burleson County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Dusty Tittle, according to the DPS.

Firefighters were overwhelmed over the weekend and through Monday with a rash of controlled burns that got out of hand, requiring responses from multiple agencies, and causing large losses of hay bales.In the Deanville area off County Road 324, 786 hay bales burned on Monday, Feb.
