The Caldwell City Council on Tuesday, Aug. 20, approved a $21.3 million budget for 2024-25 and a 37.957 cent tax rate, the same as last year.Caldwell City Administrator Camden White offered an overview of the budget and tax rate during the hearing, but there was no public comment.

Snook ISD growth has facilities maxed out

Snook approves budget, tax rate for 2024-25

The Snook City Council approved a $1,094,404 budget for 2024-25 and a 25-cent per $100 valuation property tax rate, the same as last year, at their Monday, Aug. 26, meeting.The budget was approved following a public hearing.The overall revenue is $1,108,541.

Somerville hires city administrator

The Somerville City Council has hired David Resendiz as its new city administrator, replacing Danny Segundo who is retiring.The council unanimously approved Resendiz’s hiring at a Tuesday, Aug. 20, called meeting, and he will begin on Sept. 2 and take over on Oct. 1.

EASTBOUND TRAFFIC ON State Highway 21 East in Caldwell was backed up on Friday as a TxDOT contractor continued mill and inlay road work on the highway, east of the State Highway 36 intersection. Work continues this week, and motorists should expect some delays, TxDOT says.
