County sales tax revenues show increase in August

Sales tax revenues showed an increase for August 2024 from August 2023 for Burleson County in Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s latest monthly report.However, the cities of Snook and Somerville showed decreases. However, with City of Caldwell showing a slight increase.

Burleson County Grand Jury returns nine felony indictments

The Burleson County Grand Jury met in regular session on Thursday, Aug. 8, and returned 11 felony indictments.Only the names of those arrested are released and include: * Willie Lee Hill, 31, of Killeen; theft of firearm -- state jail felony.

Man charged, arrested in May arson case

A 34-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 7, on a felony arson charge in connection with the May burning of a fifth wheel trailer and an outbuilding used for cooking and storage on Sundown Road near Caldwell.Christian Luis Garcia Jr.

Woman charged in gun theft case

A 40-year-old Bryan woman was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 6, on a felony theft of a firearm charge.Patricia Lou Lindeman was charged and remains in Burleson County custody on $3,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

Woman charged in drug possession at county jail

A 34-year-old Somerville area woman was arrested on Wednesday morning, Aug. 7, on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.Kayleigh Elyse Beckman was charged and is now free on $5,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.
