City of Caldwell to consider tax rate, budget for 2025

The Caldwell City Council was scheduled to approve a $21.3 million budget for 2024-25 and a 37.957 cent tax rate, the same as last year, at their Tuesday, Aug. 20, meeting.The vote was scheduled to follow a public hearing.The tax rate is higher than the 34.

Deputies investigate animal cruelty case

Burleson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an animal cruelty case involving over 100 dogs and cats being housed mostly in cages on a Deanville property, but no charges have been filed.
