Austin Democrat Theresa Boisseau attended a Burleson County Democratic Party dinner last Thursday and spoke to area Democrats about the issues that led to her challenging Republican Michael McCaul for his for US Congressional District 10 seat.

Masonic organizations join to present grant to HART

Four Masonic organizations recently joined together to support a local charity with much needed funding -- Haven Animal Rescue of Texas (HART).As part of an awards dinner at Lee Scott Masonic Lodge in Somerville on June 22, HART was presented with a $1,250 grant.

Corn leafhopper reach is expanding

Insect pressure has been “extraordinarily heavy” for Texas crops, according to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service pest managementexpertDavid Kerns, Ph.D., professor and associate department head for the Department of Entomology.
