Outdoor burn ban in effect

Burleson County was placed on an outdoor burning ban on Thursday, Oct. 9, until further notice.This includes, but is not limited to, trash, brush, campfires and other outdoor fires.The order was issued by Burleson County Judge Keith Schroeder.

Man charged in ag assault case

A Caldwell area man was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 11, on charges of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering a child in connection with an incident at Cade Lake.

Area firefighters busy battling more grass fires

Area firefighters remained busy with grass fires on Monday with a grass fire off F.M. 3058 burning about 1.5 acres and a burn ban violation that resulted in a small grass fire in Enchanted Oaks Subdivision off Park Road 57.

Grass fire burns 15 acres off County Road 308

A fire burned about 15 acres of pasture land on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 8, on County Road 308, and the cause remains undetermined.Caldwell Fire Chief Harry Bowers said the fire erupted on a 25acre land tract at 5997 County Road 308 inthe northeast corner of the intersection with County Road 313.

Public hearing set for PDD off County Road 105

The Caldwell City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, concerning a Planned Development District (PDD) for the Quinn Waters Subdivision on County Road 105.The applicant, Good Fences Texas, LP, is requesting to create the district on 148.10 acres.
