A fire burned up more about 35 large, square bales of alfalfa hay at an open-sided pole barn last Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Joey Skrivanek Ranch off State Highway 212 East near Cooks Point.
The accidental fire was caused by a spark from some workers’ nearby repairs to a cattle pens gate, said Cooks Point Fire Chief Larry Odstrcil.
