Yen places second at Anderson-Shiro Meet

Snook’s Tristen Yen earned silver in the 148-pound weight class at the Anderson-Shiro Boys Meet 3 last week.Yen had a total lift of 1,005 pounds -- 375 pounds in the squat, 245 pounds in the bench press and 385 pounds in the dead lift.

Lady Hornets take 2nd at La Grange

The Caldwell Lady Hornets finished second at the La Grange Tournament last Wednesday at Frisch Auf! Country Club, losing to Cameron Yoe by 1 stroke.Caldwell finished with a team round of 402, their best score of season.

Hornet soccer falls to Smithville, Giddings

Last week, the Hornet soccer team lost two district games.At home, the Hornets played Smithville to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation, however the Tigers outscored Caldwell in overtime, winning 4-3 in penalty shots.

Lady Hornets host annual tournament

The Lady Hornets hosted the annual Lady Hornet SWARM Softball Tournament last week, and went 4-2 during the event.Thursday afternoon, Caldwell opened their tournament play against Lexington, falling to the Lady Eagles 2-1.

The Caldwell Hornets won two of three games against the Brazos Cougars last weekend at the Brazos Tournament, improving to 2-2 for the season.The Hornets lost their season opener 4-3 at Little River Academy on Monday, Feb. 19.

Lady Hornet Field was one of 21 fields hosting the 2024 Texas High School Softball Leadoff Classic put on by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.And, the Lady Hornets went 4-2 in the tournament.

Dylan Chapman had to beat his own teammate, Ty Breitschopf, in the championship match to win the boys’ singles title at last Friday’s Caldwell Invitational Varsity Tournament #1.Chapman won the “Caldwell only match” 6-2, 6-0.

Last week, the Hornet soccer team had a difficult time finding the back of the net, playing against some tough defenses.On Tuesday, Caldwell traveled to Taylor, falling to the Ducks 5-0.For 60 minutes, the Hornets played Taylor tough only giving up two goals.

Hornets place second at College Station tourney

The Caldwell boys golf team placed second on Feb. 14 at the A&M Consolidated High School Spring Classic held at the Texas A&M University Golf Course, and two of the girls placed second and third as individuals.
