Hornets seek rebound with new head coach

The Caldwell Hornets have nowhere to go but up. The Hornets, coming off an 0-10 season last year, are starting over with new head coach Sean Witherwax with five offensive and five defensive starters and 13 lettermen returning. The Hornets will have a new look offensively and defensively.

Last week, the Lady Yeguas competed in the Hearne Volleyball Tournament, winning the consolation title. On Thursday, Somerville lost its first match, falling to the Bryan High JV 14-25, 24-26. Then, the Lady Yeguas rebounded to beat the Bryan High Freshman team in three sets 1825, 25-14, 15-9.

Yeguas building on last year’s momentum

The Somerville Yeguas are looking to build on the progress of the 2022 football season. If the Yeguas can play an entire season as they did the six-game district stretch, Somerville could be one of the Brazos Valley’s biggest football stories in 2024.

Snook looking for improvement in 2023

The Snook Bluejays have some good skill position experience returning for 2023 but will need help from their young offensive and defensive lines to improve. The Bluejays finished 4-6 overall and 2-4 in district play last year and missed a playoff berth.
