Lady Yeguas go 1-1 to start 2023 season

In the first week of the 2023 season, the Lady Yeguas were 1-1, falling to the Brazos Valley Mustangs last Tuesday, but rebounding to beat ILTexas on Friday. Tuesday’s home and season opener against Brazos Valley saw Somerville fall in straight sets 13-25, 1225, 21-25.

Hornets work on their game at Academy scrimmage

The Caldwell Hornets scrimmaged atAcademy last Saturday as new head coach Sean Witherwax got his first look at his team in a game-like setting. Caldwell scored one touchdown and gave up some TDs in a threeway scrimmage that also involved the JV, and Witherwax said his team learned a lot.

Caldwell HS team tennis opens 2023 season

The Caldwell tennis team opened up its season on the road in Bryan in a three-way event with Bryan High and Rudder on Tuesday and then went to Madisonville on Friday to take on the Mustangs and Palestine. On Tuesday, Caldwell fell to Bryan High 4-15 and to Rudder 6-13.

Lady Hornet volleyball opens season at 3-3

The Lady Hornet Varsity Volleyball team went 3-3 in their first week of play for the 2023 season. The ladies traveled to Leon on Tuesday and played a very talented team in the Lady Cougars, falling in straight sets 17-25, 6-25, 11-25.
