Hornet soccer lands eight players on All-District squad

The Caldwell Hornet varsity soccer team had eight of its players make the District 24-2A All-District Team. Caldwell had three seniors make the All-District First Team: Barret Yates, Nicholas Rutherford and David Goff. Yates was a midfielder for the Hornets and the captain of the team.

CHS Hornet baseball camp scheduled for May 30-June 1

The Caldwell coaching staff is gearing up for future Hornets with the annual Hornet baseball camps. The camp will be held May 30 through June 1. There will be two sessions for the Hornet Baseball Camp: * Session 1 will be for kindergarten through third-grade from 6-7 p.m.

Hornets fall to Salado in two area playoff games

The Caldwell Hornets fell to Salado 5-0 and 7-1 in the area playoff series last week to conclude their season. Caldwell, 14-15-1, lost game one on Thursday, May 11, in Caldwell. Salado led 1-0 through five innings and added four runs in the top of the sixth.

Hornets win bi-district 11-1 over Houston Washington

The Caldwell Hornets took control in the second inning with six runs to win the bi-district game against Houston Washington 11-1 on Thursday, May 4, in Navasota. Caldwell improved to 14-13-1 overall and headed to the area playoff round where they will face Salado at 7 p.m.

Lady Hornets fall to Robinson in best of 3 area playoff series

Last week, the Lady Hornets saw their season end at the hands of the Lady Rockets of Robinson. Caldwell and Robinson met in a best 2-outof- 3 series at Georgetown High School on Thursday and Saturday, and Robinson defeated Caldwell in Games 1 and 2, so no Game 3 was needed.
