The Snook and Somerville track teams competed in the District 26-2A Track & Field Meet last week in Snook with several athletes advancing to the Area Meet -- which will be this Thursday in Snook. Athletes finishing in the top four places qualify for area.

Snook shut out in two games against Burton

The Snook Bluejays lost a Tuesday, April 4, road doubleheader to Burton 15-0 and 21-0. The Panthers jumped to an 11-0 lead in the first inning, added one run in the bottom of the second and three more in the bottom of the third.

Lady Hornets undefeated in first round of district

The Lady Hornets are undefeated in Round 1 of district play -- and have 10-run ruled every district opponent, outscoring their opponents 70-6. And, last week, La Grange and Manor New Tech were Caldwell’s latest victims. Last Tuesday, Caldwell caged the Lady Leps at home 11-1.

Snook defeats Somerville in two games, 12-4, 14-4

The Snook Bluejays defeated Burleson County rival Somerville in two district games last week, 12-4 on Tuesday in Somerville and 16-4 on Friday in Snook. In game one, Snook scored three runs in the top of the second inning for a 4-0 lead.

Lady Jays beat Normangee 19-2

The Lady Jays had an easy time on the road in Normangee, caging the Lady Panthers 19-2. The game began Marissa Batiste walking and advancing to second when Carmen Miller was hit by a pitch.

Lady Hornets place second in golf, tennis

The home team fared well at last week’s District 22-4A Varsity Tennis Tournament with the Hornet varsity tennis team winning the boys’ district team title and the Caldwell girls placing second. The Caldwell boys finished the tournament with a total score of 38 points.
