Last week, Carter inched closer to a milestone -- 1,000 career points as a Lady Yegua. She scored 33 points against Fayetteville and 112 points in the Thrall Tournmament, leaving only 30 points left to hit 1,000.

Lady Jays host tournament, go 2-3

The Lady Jays were 2-3 at their own tournament last week. In the tournament’s first game, Snook hosted the Bryan Rudder JV team, beating Rudder 5-17. Alana Stringfellow led Snook in scoring with 13 points. MacKenzie Groce was the rebounding leader, pulling down 10.

Yeguas rally for 45-39 victory over Caldwell

The Somerville Yeguas rallied with an 18-point fourth quarter run to defeat Caldwell 45-39 on Monday, Nov. 21, in Somerville. The Yeguas jumped to an early 9-2 first quarter lead but trailed 17-16 at halftime and 28-27 at the end of the third quarter.

Hornets win 57-38 at Anderson-Shiro

The Caldwell Hornets took control in the second quarter and had their best offensive showing of the season in a 58-37 road win on Tuesday, Nov. 22, over Anderson-Shiro. The Hornets, bouncing back after a close road loss to Somerville the day before, improved to 2-3 overall.

Lady Jays win at home over Richards 55-32

The Lady Jays had an easy time last Tuesday afternoon at home, coasting past Richards 55-32. Alexis Macik was a big part of the reason Snook had control of the game, earning a doubledouble with 11 points and 15 rebounds -- 10 of the rebounds off the offensive boards.

Lady Hornets lose 2 during Thanksgiving break

The Lady Hornets had a rough time last week, losing two non-district games before taking some time off for Thanksgiving. On Monday, Caldwell hosted Burton, falling to the Lady Panthers 65-21. Senior Mya Knoxson put the most points on the scoreboard for the Lady Hornets with eight points.

ON HIS WAY OUT -- Did anyone see the Sunday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles? It was a high-scoring affair that kind of kept you up all night, with Philly finally ending the drama pulling out a 40-33 win. Yes, I must admit, I watched the whole thing.
