Lady Hornets run at Region 3 XC Meet

The Caldwell Lady Hornet cross country team finished 16th at Monday’s UIL Region III Cross Country Meet at Kate Barr Ross Memorial Park in Huntsville. Caldwell earned a score of 486 points for its 16th place finish in girls Class 4A.

Yeguas get ready for showdown with Burton

The Somerville Yeguas have a chance for an historic victory this Friday in a home showdown against unbeaten Burton. The Yeguas 4-4 overall and 4-0 in District 14-2A will face 8-0, 5-0 Burton in a battle for the district lead.

Lady Yeguas drop 2 in district last week

Last week, the Lady Yeguas dropped two district matches to Mumford and Burton. On Tuesday, Somerville hosted Mumford, losing to the Lady Mustangs 11-25, 11-25, 2325. Somerville was led by Alazia Vela with two kills and two blocks. Ra’Maya Carter added two kills in the loss.

Lady Jay vball falls to district leader Burton

Snook had a rough time on the road last Tuesday against Burton, falling to the Lady Panthers 7-25, 10-25, 3-25. Burton is undefeated in district play so far this season. Leading the Lady Jays at the net were McKenzie Groce with three kills and Alexis Macik with one kill and two blocks.

Snook struggles in 59-21 Falls City loss

The Snook Bluejays battled hard in the first half and missed two big scoring opportunities, but Falls City took control in the second half for a 59-21 win last Friday in Falls City.

Lady Hornets finish district season with 7-5 record

With a 7-5 district record, Caldwell will once again be in the UIL Volleyball Playoffs for Class 4A in Region III. After beating Manor New Tech last Tuesday, the Lady Hornets lost their final two matches to Taylor on Friday and Giddings on Monday.
