Hornets fall in two games to Lorena in area playoff

The Caldwell Hornets fell to state-ranked Lorena in two games last week in the area playoff, concluding a 19-13 season and a secondplace tie in district play. Caldwell lost 1-0 on Thursday, May 12, and 7-0 on Friday, May 13, at Georgetown East View High School.

JILLIAN VYKUKAL was recently selected to the District 19-3A All-District Honorable Mention Team. In 28 games, Vykukal batted .228 with 13 hits in 57 at bats and had a .939 fielding percentage. She also earned Academic All-District honors for the 2022 season.

SNOOK’S HIGH SCHOOL’S Football Award winners for the 2021 season were Garrett Lero, MVP, and Lance Lara, Heart Award.

Snook High School athletes were presented awards on Tuesday, May 10, at the annual allsports banquet at the high school cafeteria. The banquet was organized by the Snook Athletic Booster Club.

The Snook High School golf team got off to a good start this year, winning a district championship in their first try. The Bluejays then advanced to the regional tourney and placed ninth, and Snook Head Coach Dylan Conway was proud of the season.
