Lady Hornets make the basketball playoffs!

The Lady Hornet basketball team will be in the playoffs for the first time since the 1999-2000 season after splitting district games last week with Florence and Cameron Yoe. Last Tuesday, Caldwell was on the road in Florence, falling to the Lady Buffs 41-25.

Lady Yeguas beat Snook 42-14

The Lady Yeguas beat Snook for the second time this season to win Round 2 of the Burleson County Showdown last Tuesday 42-14.

Snook takes early lead, beats Somerville 69-47

The Snook Bluejays defeated rival Somerville 69-47 on Tuesday, Feb. 1, in Somerville before falling to Mumford 74-35 on Friday, Feb. 4, in Mumford. Snook finished the week 4-3 in district play, tied for second with Normangee, who they were scheduled to play on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at home.

Hornets battle hard, fall to Cameron

The Caldwell Hornets fell to Cameron Yoe 80-74 last Friday at home following a 52-48 road win over Florence on Feb. 1. The Hornets ended the week at 14-16 overall and 4-5 in district play, fourth behind Academy, Cameron and Rogers and still in the running for a playoff spot.

Snook, Caldwell boys compete at Caldwell High School tourney

Snook placed fifth and Caldwell placed seventh in the Kolache Capital Invitational boys golf tournament on Monday, Feb. 7, at Copperas Hollow Country Club. Snook finished with a team score of 397, and Caldwell finished with a 407.

Caldwell, Somerville lift at Rockdale Tiger Invitational

Caldwell and Somerville powerlifters competed at the Tiger Invitational in Rockdale on Saturday. In the girls’ standings, Somerville edged out Caldwell for fifth place, both scoring 18 points. Taylor won the girls’ team title with 38 points.
