The Lady Jays hosted their annual girls basketball tournament last week, and Jarrell took home the top trophy after defeating Elgin in the Gold Bracket championship game 32-24 last Saturday.

The Lady Hornet basketball team is off to one of the best starts it has had in recent history -- sitting at a 9-2 record after winning the title game at this past weekend’s North Zulch tournament. Caldwell went a perfect 4-0 at the tournament, edging Iola in the championship game 56-54.

Hornets’ JV plays at local tourney

The Caldwell JV White team finished 2-1 and the Orange team finished 1-2 at the Kolache Capital Invitational Tournament last week. The White team defeated Mumford JV 54-46 and East Bernard JV 35-27 before falling to Sealy JV 49-29.

Caldwell goes 3-2 at Kolache Capital Tourney

The Caldwell Hornets got off to a fast start in the Kolache Capital Invitational Tournament last week with impressive wins over Danbury, 53-33, and Snook, 72-49, but the death of loved assistant coach Ryan Hooper in a Friday morning traffic accident clearly took a toll.

Lady Yeguas place 2nd at Thrall Tournament

After being off for over a week, the Lady Yeguas brushed off their uniforms and went 5-1 last week, including a second place finish at the Thrall Tournament, to improve to 6-1 for the season. Head coach Brandon Colvin said, “It was a busy week, but I felt like the girls responded well.
