Lady Hornets fall to Sealy in bi-district

There is a reason why Sealy is the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s (TGCA) Class 4A Number 20 team in the state, and last week the Lady Hornets discovered why...with the Lady Tigers outscoring Caldwell 25-3 in their two-game (best two-out-of-three) bi-district series.

Hornets win over Bellville in rematch

The Caldwell Hornets defeated Bellville 13-3 on Monday in Bellville in game two of their series to improve to 14-9 overall and 6-4 in district play.The Hornets lost to Bellville 8-6 in an extra inning last Thursday at home after defeating Giddings 9-2 in a Tuesday, April 15, road game.

Lady Hornets win final district game over Giddings

The Lady Hornets finished the district season with a 4-6 record, edging out Bellville for the final playoff spot.So, Caldwell will host Number 20 Sealy this Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Weiss Field for Game 1 of the bi-district round. Game 2 will be Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The Snook Bluejays lost a two-game series to Round Top-Carmine last week, 9-7 after a late rally on Monday, April 14, at home and 19-4 in a Friday, April 18, road game.In game one, RTC held a narrow 4-3 lead through six innings before outscoring Snook 5-4 in the final inning.

Somerville shut out in two losses to Mumford

The Somerville Yeguas lost a two-game series to Mumford 10-0 on Tuesday, April 15, in Mumford and 22-0 on Thursday, April 17, at home.The Yeguas fell to 2-13-1 for the season.In game one, Mumford built leads of 2-0 in the first inning, 5-0 in the third, 7-0 in the fourth and 10-0 in the sixth.

Lady Jays end season with 5-1 Burton loss

After three and a half scoreless innings, Burton scored in the bottom of the fourth off a Snook error on the way to a 5-1 win over the Lady Jays.Aubrey Becker took the loss for Snook, allowing four hits and five runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out 13 and walking five.
