Lady Yeguas fall to Mumford 11-3

Last Tuesday, the Lady Yeguas hosted Mumford, falling to the Lady Mustangs 11-3.Mumford was first on the scoreboard, after Emma Loehr singled to score a run in the first inning.Jayla Martinez extended Mumford’s lead in the top of the second inning with a double to score two, making it 3-0.

Lady Hornets fall to La Grange, Giddings

Last week, the Lady Hornets fell to two district foes: La Grange and Giddings.In La Grange last Tuesday night, the Lady Leps got on the board early in the bottom of the first as they powered to an 8-1 win over Caldwell.

Headed to regionals

Caldwell varsity track sent several athletes to the Area meet in La Grange last week, led by Al’yssa Butler who won the girls 400-meter dash.Butler’s gold was earned by finishing with a time of 58.72 seconds-- qualifying her for the regional meet this weekend in Bullard.

Kienow flies high for Lady Jays at area track

Snook’s Dakota Kienow had the Midas touch last week at the area meet -- resulting in three individual gold medals.She placed first in the girls 200-meter dash with a time of 28.07 seconds, edging out Somerville’s Karys Ellis by less that a half second with her second place time of 28.56.

Hornets win 7-6 in 9th inning over Giddings

The Caldwell Hornets defeated Giddings 7-6 in nine innings last Friday at home, bouncing back after a 15-1 road loss to La Grange on April 8.Against Giddings, Caldwell built a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning and added 3 more runs in the bottom of the third for a 6-1 lead.

The Lady Hornets had seven soccer players make the District 24-4A Girls Soccer All-District squad, while the Hornets also landed seven boys on the Boys All-District team.Wayland Jenkins was also named the District 24-4A Assistant Girls Coach of the Year.

Chapman wins Bryan Tourney

The Hornet Tennis team participated in the Bryan Varsity Invitational on Friday, April 11.Team members traveled to various locations throughout Bryan/College Station to compete, including Bryan High School, Rudder High School and A&M Consolidated High School.
Last week at the UIL District 22-4A Girls Golf Tournament, led the Lady Hornets with backto- back personal best rounds, shooting an 88 on the first day and 85 on the second for second place individually.

Hornets victorious over La Grange, Smithville

The Caldwell Hornets defeated La Grange 3-0, with Colby Maresh pitching a no-hitter, last Friday at home and defeated Smithville 7-5 on Tuesday, April 1, in Smithville.The wins brought Caldwell’s record to 10-7 overall and 3-2 in district play.
