Snook wins 67-59 over Anderson-Shiro

The Snook Bluejays dominated the fourth quarter in a 67-59 road win over Anderson-Shiro last Friday, improving their record to 10-7.The game followed a 45-40 home loss to Granger on Tuesday, Dec. 17.The Owls held Snook to a 16-16 tie in the first quarter, and Snook led just 31-30 at halftime.

Hornets finish 1-3 at Centerville Tournament

The Caldwell Hornets opened with a big win over Buffalo in game one of the Centerville Tournament last week before struggling in three straight losses.The Hornets fell to 6-8 heading into a home game on Tuesday, Dec. 17, against Milano.Caldwell defeated Buffalo 53-47 in game one on Thursday, Dec.

Somerville goes 1-2 at home tournament

The Somerville Yeguas struggled with turnovers and missed free throws in a 1-2 finish at their Koppers Tournament last week.Somerville, 3-5 for the season, defeated St. Joseph in game one 53-37 on Thursday before falling on Friday to Brenham JV 53-48 and to Richards, the tournament champion, 58-48.

Snook takes third at home tournament

Snook was 2-3 at their home tournament last Thursday through Saturday, good enough for a third-place finish.The Bluejays, now 9-6, defeated Dime Box 64-27 in game one on Thursday before falling to Eastern Buckets of Australia 42-20 in game two.

Lady Jays soar to 64-18 win over Lady Yeguas

Snook’s Dakota Kienow and Karla Lara had phenomenal offensive showings last Friday night, leading the Lady Jays to victory over rival Somerville 64-18 in the district opener for both squads.After a tepid first half, the Lady Jays’ Kienow and K. Lara put on a second half scoring clinic for the win.

Last Tuesday, Dec. 10, the Lady Yeguas traveled to Wallis-Brazos, falling 50-31.Coach Josh Vela said, “We made a good run late, but it wasn’t enough to cut the lead down to single digits.”The leading scorer was Viviana Munoz with 13 points.
