Hornet Band plays during Alamo Bowl halftime show

Caldwell High School’s Hornet Band was one of 10 high school bands from across the country selected to play the halftime show at this year’s Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.Hornet Band director Dr. Jason Levin said the experience was one-ofa“The performance was amazing,” he said.

Lady Jays fall to Burton 66-47

Last Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Lady Jays were on the road in Burton for their second district game of the season.Dakota Kienow, Alana Stringfellow and Braynija Pool put in stellar offensive showings, but Snook still came up short, falling to the Lady Panthers 66-47.

Hornet soccer season kicks off

The Caldwell High School soccer has begun for both the Hornets and the Lady Hornets, having scrimmages over the past few weeks.The boys kicked off their season at home against Waelder, being edged out by the Wildcats 4-3.

Klingler named new Yegua athletic director

After the Yeguas’ historic football season, the team has a new chief.During a special meeting on Thursday, the Somerville School Board voted to promote Yegua offensive coordinator Luke Klingler to head coach and athletic director.

Hornets win at home over Milano 56-45, alumni 65-55

The Caldwell Hornets had a good week at home last week, defeating Milano 56-45 on Dec. 17 and ending on Friday with a 65-55 win over the alumni.Against Milano, the Hornets led 15-10 in the first quarter and 27-16 at halftime.

Lady Hornets lose to Brazos Christian, St. Jo’s

The Lady Hornets had a tough week last week against two schools from Bryan.Last Tuesday night, Caldwell was in Bryan, visiting Brazos Christian and fell to the Lady Eagles 38-29.Ava Jones led Caldwell in scoring with nine points. Ireland Morgan had six.
