Hornet football players named All-District

Caldwell senior offensive tackle Preston Supak was named to the District 11-4A All-District first team, junior defensive back Dylan Carter was named to the All-District first team defense, and junior deep snapper Coy Becka was named to the first team for special teams.

Somerville players earn top All-District honors

13-2A’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in All-District balloting, and Somerville earned Coaching Staff of the Year.In addition, junior Christopher Deere was named as the district’s Newcomer of the Year.Somerville and Snook players were honored in the recent balloting.

Somerville goes 2-2 at Fayetteville Tourney

The Somerville Yeguas got off to a fast start with a 49-28 win over Flatonia in game one of the Fayetteville Tournament last weekend and rallied in the fourth quarter for a 60-48 win over state-ranked Thorndale.

Lady Yeguas play in Fayettevile Tournament

The Lady Yeguas traveled to Fayetteville last weekend to compete in a tournament.On Thursday, Somerville took on the host team in the first game, losing to Fayetteville 51-22.

Snook falls in 3 games at Tourney

Snook, one of the Brazos Valley’s big success stories after a 5-0 start, won just one of four games last weekend at the Bruceville-Eddy Tournament.Snook fell to Normangee 57-47 on Thursday in game one, the Bluejays first loss of the season, and to Bruceville-Eddy 35-23 in game two on Thursday.

Hornets go 4-1 at home tournament

The Caldwell Hornets went 4-1 last week at their Kolache Capital Invitational Tournament, placing second behind O’Connell.Caldwell, who also lost to Buffalo on Nov. 25 8338 and on Dec. 3 to East Bernard 58-40, improved to 5-5 overall.
