Woman arrested in check forgeries

A Brenham woman was arrested on Tuesday, April 9, on a felony forgery charge in connection with six checks cashed in late March totaling $6,200. Nikki Lee Spitzer, 32, was charged with forgery of a financial instrument, $2,500-$30,000, and is now free on $5,000 bond.

Man arrested in felony evading case

A Caldwell man was arrested early Monday, April 15, on a felony evading arrest with a vehicle charge in connection with a Sunday night pursuit involving Caldwell police on State Highway 21 West and O’Neal Street.

Woman airlifted after accident on SH 21

An Austin woman was airlifted to a Bryan hospital on Tuesday, April 9, and a Hutto woman was transported by ambulance to the same hospital after a car-pickup collision on State Highway 21 West near F.M. 908.

Man charged in two evading cases

A Caldwell area man was arrested on Friday, April 12, on two evading charges and a burglary charge in connection with an early morning vehicle pursuit along State Highway 21 West and F.M. 908 and later that morning on foot on Hall Street in Caldwell.

Caldwell eyes financial agreement for projects

The Caldwell City Council was to consider approval of a financial advisory agreement with Frost Bank of San Antonio at their Tuesday, April 16, meeting for future, major capital improvement projects. Caldwell City Administrator Camden White said prior to the meeting that the firm would be a bond adviser if the city later sought a voterapproved bond issue for major water or wastewater projects.
