Somerville police executed a search warrant on Friday and arrested a Somerville man on five counts of felony delivery of a controlled substance/marijuana to a minor, one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of injury to a child criminal neglect.

Grass fires keep firefighters busy

Area firefighters battled a series of grass fires over the last week in dry, windy conditions, including one on Monday off County road 316 that burned over 30 acres. Most of the blazes occurred when controlled burns spread to grasses nearby and quickly took off, firefighters said.
