Texas mountain laurel earns Texas Superstar status

The Texas mountain laurel, Dermatophyllum secundiflorum, has long been one of the state’s most admired native evergreens and now it’s officially a Texas Superstar, recognized for its exceptional performance, resilience and ornamental appeal.

The Elizabeth Lutheran Church in Caldwell will soon be home to a revitalized playground and outdoor area, thanks to a $25,000 community grant from the Lower Colorado RiverAuthority (LCRA).

Local artist asks for community support in national contest

Local artist Kevin Romero of Caldwell is looking to the community for support in The People’s Artist competition -- a nationwide art competition figureheaded by actor Johnny Depp in collaboration with The Art of Elysium Art Salon in Los Angeles, Califonia, and Colossal Fundraising.
