Multiple arrests made in drug cases

A narcotics investigation in Lee and Burleson counties last week resulted in multiple arrests involving numerous law enforcement agencies serving warrants.Seven persons were arrested after serving search warrants in four locations, spanning from Monday, March 16, to Wednesday, March 18.

Chamber open house set for Thursday

The Burleson County Chamber of Commerce will host an open house at its new location at 207 W. Mustang Street in Caldwell on Thursday, March 19, from 5-7 p.m.Ribbon cutting will take place at 6 p.m., with door prizes and refreshments before and after.

County sales tax shows increase in March

Sales tax revenues showed an increase for March 2026 from March 2025 for Burleson County in Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock’s latest monthly report.And, the City of Caldwell was the only entity to show a decrease for March, with Snook and Somerville each showing a slight decline.

Man charged with ag assault

A Caldwell area man was arrested on Sunday, March 15, on a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge after threatening a woman on County Road 251.Timothy Terrell Allen, 41, was charged and remained in Burleson County custody on Monday, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

Cooks Point man charged in felony assault

A Cooks Point man was arrested on Wednesday, March 11, on a felony assault charge in connection with a Feb. 13 attack on a woman.Danny Ray Lopez Jr., 21, was charged and is now free on $50,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office. A woman reported on Feb.

Man charged in theft, forgery

A 53-year-old Somerville man was arrested on Thursday, March 12, on felony theft and forgery charges in connection with funds stolen from an incarcerated woman and the sale of her car.
