TWC recognizes CTE month

This February, the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is celebrating Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month by highlighting the value of CTE programs and the students who are preparing for high-skill technical careers in more than 460 different fields across the state.

POSGCD Board to OK seeking grant from TWDB

The Post Oaks Savannah Groundwater Conservation District Board was scheduled to approve seeking a $300,000 grant from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) at their Tuesday, Feb. 10, meeting in Milano.

Master Marketer training set for Feb. 11-12 in Canyon

A Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Master Marketer program will be held on Feb. 1112 at the Texas A&M AgriLife High Plains Research and Extension Center, 3211 Russell Long Blvd., Canyon.The program will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Registration is $50 per person.

Preliminary plat eyed for Yegua Landing

The Somerville City Council was scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Feb. 10, to consider approval of the preliminary plat for Yegua Landing Subdivision on State Highway 36 and the site plan for townhomes at 496 Ave. F.The Yegua Landing Subdivision will be located on 18.

Texas beef herd signals higher prices ahead for producers and consumers

The latest U.S. Department of Agriculture cattle inventory report delivered another clear signal that the U.S. beef herd has yet to turn the corner, and Texas remains central to the story, said Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service experts.
