Man injured in cycle accident off F.M. 2155

A College Station man was injured on Friday, Feb. 6, in a motorcycle rollover accident on F.M. 2155 and was transported by ambulance to a Bryan hospital.Caden Brown, 22, was traveling northwest on F.M. 2155, just southeast of County Road 223, at about 7:20 p.m.

Burleson County firefighters battle numerous blazes

Burleson County’s volunteer firefighters had another busy week dealing with a series of fires, including some triggered by controlled burns.Only one fire, on Saturday at Freedom Ranch property on Park Road 57, resulted in stucture damage -- an abandonded mobile home and two trucks.

Burn ban back on

County officials reinstated a county-wide burn ban on Monday, Feb. 9, following what county judge Keith Schroeder called “a rash of fires” over the weekend.At this time, all outdoor burning is prohibited for 90 days, or until otherwise notified by commissioners.

Missing rifle scope case investigated

A Burleson County man reported that someone possibly stole a package intended for him on County Road 310 that contained a thermal, rifle scope.Burleson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the case as a possible felony theft, said Sheriff Bill Rios.
