BRENDA KAY KELLER

Brenda Kay Kellar, 66, of Caldwell, passed away on Monday surrounded by family.

A viewing only will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.

A private cremation burial will be held at a later date.

Brenda, better known to her family as Kay, was born on July 18, 1956, to Gilley and Nancy Kellar in Brenham, Texas. Brenda Kay was one of 3 very close siblings.

In her younger years, she spent countless hours being spoiled by her grandparents.

She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1974.

Brenda Kay worked in the fabric department at Perry’s in Caldwell, Texas, before starting her career at Walmart in Caldwell for the next 35 years. She was a very dedicated, punctual, and hard-working employee.

Her hobbies included crafting, sewing, reading, and baking.

She had a love for learning, especially history, and was always helping her nieces and nephews with homework.

She is known by all for making conversation with others she didn’t know in a quiet room, as well as her encouraging/ thoughtful, and quirky sayings.

She would always say she didn’t need children of her own because she was a full-time aunt.

One remarkable attribute was her generous heart, focus on doing for others, wanting others to be happy. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family, as they were her everything, and also by her Walmart family.

Brenda Kay was preceded in death by her father, Gilley Kellar.

Brenda Kay is survived by her mother, Nancy Kellar; and her sisters, Sarah Charanza (Larry Charanza) and Jennifer Olivarez (Michael Olivarez); her nieces and nephew, Sheena Charanza, Shain Charanza, Sheree Standefer (Bart Standefer) and Micaela Olivarez; great-niece and nephews, Alana, Calvin and Lochlan and Zae.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chriesman Cemetery Association.
