Funeral services for Sandra Marleen Whaley, 83, of Katy, Texas, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell. Sandy was born on July 20, 1938. Sandy was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit at age seven. She married Gerald Don Whaley in 1956.

Donny Ray Baron, 78, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, in St. Luke’s Cancer Hospital in Houston with his family by his side. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Caldwell Civic Center on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. A private burial will follow later.

Donna Elaine Bachmann, 73, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022, in the Chapel of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell. Donna was born on June 14, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Okla.

LILLIAN VAVRA

Lillian Joyce Vavra, 78, of Caldwell, Texas, was born on June 28, 1943, in Summer Shade, Ky., to Lou Ida Wells and Glatus Witty. She was the youngest of five children. Joyce fell in love and Joyce fell in love and married Albert Varva on Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in Deanville, Texas.

ANDREW DABBS

Andrew Ernest Dabbs, 74, of Mathis, Texas, passed away on March 4, 2022. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 8, 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served three tours in Vietnam. He was married to Joyce Delano Dabbs on March 16, 1996.

FLOSSIE SHURLEY

A Celebration of Life for Flossie Eugenia Shurley, 80, of Caldwell, will be held for immediate family members only. Flossie was born Oct. 23, 1941, in Prichard, Ala., to Julia Mae Brown and Edwin Horace Hines. She was one of nine siblings.

Linda Kay Darling passed peacefully from this Earth on February 20, 2022, in Bryan, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born in Houston, Texas, on Flag Day, June 14, 1952, to LaVerne and Louis H. Chollett.

Betty Clark Doughtie, 90, was born June 21, 1931, to Willam and Lyra Clark of Dallas, Texas, and passed December 20, 2021. Betty was raised at Buckner Baptist children’s home along with her three siblings due to the tragic loss of both parents while she was still an infant.

Funeral services for Hays Perry, 90, of Giddings, Texas, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas, with Rev. Robert Tiner and Vicar Josh Hahn officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.
