Somerville girls fall to Mumford

In the Lady Yeguas’ final away basketball game of the season, they fell to Mumford 58-14.The Mumford defense kept Somerville to single- digit scoring in each of the four quarters, and only allowed one point in the fourth.Abigail Richardson was Somerville’s top scorer with five points.

The Caldwell Hornets lost district games last week to Bellville 92-58 on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at home and to Navasota 97-41 on Friday, Jan. 30, in Navasota.Against Bellville, the Brahmas took control early with a 32-5 first quarter lead and led 52-20 at halftime.

Last week, the Lady Hornets suffered two district losses, falling to Bellville and Navasota.Last Tuesday, Caldwell hosted Bellville, losing to the Brahmenettes 61-39.Hannah Rae Clark led the scoring for the Lady Hornets with 10 points.

Snook kept it close for most of their game last Friday against district leader Hearne, but the Eagles wore them down in the fourth quarter in a 74-48 home loss.Snook fell to 18-10 overall and 3-4 in district play.
