Snook basketball rallies to beat Somerville 42-39

Snook’s Jimmy Kearney got a steal, made a crucial layup and a free throw in the final 20 seconds as the Bluejays pulled out a 42-39 road win over a determined Somerville team last Friday.

CHS golfers place at Caldwell Tournament

The Caldwell Hornets Orange Team placed sixth on Feb. 2 at the Caldwell Tournament at Copperas Hollow Country Club.Caldwell finished with a score of 372, and Kaden Fritsche led the way with an 82.Rylan Cross scored 93, Conner Schroeder, 97, Cooper Schluens, 100, and Logan Barnes, 101.

Hornets fall due to last second shot by Smithville

The Caldwell Hornets lost to Smithville 63-62 on a last-second shot on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in Smithville.Caldwell led 22-14 in the first quarter, but the Tigers rallied in the second quarter with a 22-7 run for a 36-29 halftime lead.

Honeybees dance to the top at local contest

The Caldwell High School Honeybees competed at the Danceline Brazos Valley Regional Competition Saturday, Feb. 7, at Rudder High School.“The Honeybees were absolutely amazing and received many awards,” coach Kara Mantey said.
