Lady Yegua basketball falls to Rosebud-Lott, Iola

Last Tuesday, Somerville’s Janaya Isom netted a double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling down 15 rebounds, however, it wasn’t enough to lead the Lady Yeguas to victory over Rosebud-Lott, falling on the road to the Lady Cougars in a nondistrict match-up 61-40.

Lady Hornets beat Hempstead

Caldwell sophomore Mayzi Witherwax led the Lady Hornets to a 10-point win over Hempstead, beating the Lady Bobcats 37-27 last Tuesday, Dec. 30, at home.Witherwax scored 10 points in the win to lead all Caldwell scorers in the game.

Snook finishes 1-3 at Mumford Tournament

The Snook Bluejays, playing without highscoring starter Jimmy Kearney due to an injury, finished just 1-3 at the Mumford Cotton Classic Tournament last week.Snook, with Kearney returning, also lost a Friday, Jan.

Snook looks strong in 52-35 Weimar win

The Snook Bluejays continued a strong run of success into the Christmas-New Year’s holiday after a 52-35 home win over Weimar on Dec. 29.The Bluejays improved to 14-2 with the win headed into the Mumford Cotton Classic from Monday, Dec. 29, through Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Last Monday, Dec. 22, the Lady Yeguas hosted Schulenburg in a nondistrict match-up, falling to the Lady Horns 49-36.Anette Reyna led Somerville in scoring with 10 points.Janaya Isom led the Lady Yeguas off the boards with 16 rebounds -- four offensive and 12 defensive.
