Chilifest sues ex-president

Chilifest, a non-profit group that organized a large outdoor concert annually in Burleson County for more than 30 years and donated to local non-profits, has filed a lawsuit against a former president saying he took almost $900,000 from them to pay for personal expenses.

After some heavy rainfall over the weekend and extremely steady, heavy rainfall on Tuesday, areas across Burleson County are once again under water.At 8:35 a.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service (NWS) out of Houston/Galveston issued a Flood Advisory for the county until 10:30 a.m.

BHRC receives $750,000 grant

The Burleson Health Resource Center (BHRC) has been awarded a $750,000 Community-based Opioid Recovery Effort (CORE) grant, to be distributed over three years. Shawn Edwards of the BHRC briefed Burleson County Commissioners on the grant at their Monday, July 13, meeting.

Woman charged in vape thefts

A Somerville woman was arrested on Tuesday, June 30, on a felony theft warrant in connection with three vapes stolen in April from a Somerville business.

Man charged in drug possession

A College Station man was arrested by Caldwell police on Tuesday, June 30, on a felony drug charge after a traffic stop at the Banks and Fifth Street intersections.
