The first ever Chisholm Trail Heritage Festival is set for Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Deanville Hall on F.M. 111 and will feature educational demonstrations, live music, historical displays, vendors and live and silent auctions.

Local nonprofit Hayley’s Halo’s barn dance, hosted at the Caldwell Civic Center on Sunday, April 19, was a huge success, cofounder Jamie McKean Hodges said after the event.McKean Hodges said the event sold over 200 tickets at the door, in addition to the 80 presold tickets and sponsored tables.

Somerville OKs Atmos rate increase suspension

The Somerville City Council approved a 45day suspension of the Atmos Energy MidTexas GRIP (Gas Reliability Infrastructure Program) rate increase filing at its Tuesday, April 14, meeting.The proposed rate increase, which was filed on Feb. 20, would see residential energy rates increase from $25.

The Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District Board awarded $946,870 grant funding to local water suppliers at its Tuesday, April 14, meeting.Those entities included Clay Water Supply Corp., for $253,000 for engineering analysis to reduce manganese; Centerline Water Supply Corp.
