First SEF Winter Gala a success

The Somerville Education Foundation (SEF) hosted their first annual Winter Gala on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Yegua Center.The event featured live and silent auctions, a steak dinner and live music, with several opportunities to benefit SEF.

POSGCD board meets in closed session on SLR suit

The Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District Board consulted with its attorney at their Tuesday, Feb. 11 meeting, on a lawsuit filed against them in Milam County by SLR (Sandow Lakes Ranch) Property I, LP, that objects to the district’s newly approved rules.

Man charged in theft with two prior convictions

A Giddings man was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 5, on a state jail felony theft charge in connection an August 2024 case.The charge was enhanced to a felony due to two prior theft convictions, according to a Caldwell police report.
