Blaze burns 15 acres off County Road 324

Area volunteer firefighters battled a 15 acre grass and brush fire late Monday, Nov. 4, off County Road 324 near the F.M. 696 intersection and were able to keep the blaze away from two nearby houses.The fire was toned at 3:40 p.m.

Hay bales burn off State Highway 21 East

A fire burned up more about 35 large, square bales of alfalfa hay at an open-sided pole barn last Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Joey Skrivanek Ranch off State Highway 212 East near Cooks Point.

Burleson County Grand Jury returns 4 felony indictments

The Burleson County Grand Jury met in regular session on Wednesday, Oct. 30, and returned four felony indictments.Only the names of those arrested are released and include: * Tania Latrice Hanks, 27, of Caldwell; assault peace officer/judge -- second degree felony.

Man charged in assault, drug case

A 32-year-old Houston man was arrested on Oct. 29 on warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony DWI and felony and misdemeanor drug charges following an August traffic accident.

Man charged in home burglary

A Bryan man was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 31, on felony warrants for burglary of a habitation in connection with an October break-in at a home on County Road 308.

Election worker issued ticket

A Burleson County election office worker was issued a Class C misdemeanor ticket when a voter alleged assault by contact when the worker removed his hat on Oct. 22 during early voting.

Four vehicle wreck occurs on SH 21 E

A four-vehicle major accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 5, on State Highway 21 East at the County Road 300 intersection, sending four persons to the hospital.The accident occurred at 3:30 p.m.
