He was a 1954 graduate of Caldwell High School.
John furthered his education through his service with the United States Army Reserve from 1960 to 1964.
John’s professional career was distinguished by his longtime tenure at Sandvik Rock Tools.
Outside of work, John was an avid outdoorsman with a genuine love for activities like bike riding, hunting, and especially fishing, which was his favorite pastime.
True to his nature, he was hands-on, practical, and remarkably organized. His personality was defined by frugality balanced by generosity -- always willing to offer support while encouraging wisdom and thriftiness.
John’s pride extended beyond his professional and military accomplishments to his family, whom he regarded as his greatest legacy. He was immensely proud of his son, his granddaughter and his great-grandsons, standing as a pillar of strength and love through the years.
He died on April 18, 2026.
He is survived by one granddaughter and her husband; three grandsons; and two sisters.
